Image Resolution – Print vs Web

Image resolution is measured in dots per inch or dpi, the higher the dpi the sharper the image. When an image has a low dpi, it can have jagged edges and the dots will appear large and chunky. Web images are saved at 72 dpi because that is the best resolution that monitors can display. Professional print graphics are typically 300 dpi. A common problem businesses have is attempting to use their web images for printing. If your images have been sized for web usage and you try to use them for print they will either be dimensionally too small or if scaled to the correct dimensions they will print at a poor quality. At Anneliese Designs we offer your graphics and images in both formats, anticipating that you will need both and ensuring that you won’t have this problem down the road.
